Technically, Mike McCormick is the Process Automation & Ideation Manager for Accel Inc. and leads our Engineering, Design and Maintenance teams. However, unofficially we call him Fixer, Problem Solver, MacGyver, Tinkerer, Builder or Engineer-Extraordinaire.
Mike is always thinking about how to solve problems or make things better. A customer has a manufacturing issue no other vendor can fix in time to meet the delivery date? Mike will get it done. An additional line needs set up to meet our assembled units per day goal? Mike does that too. A machine breaks down during a shift? Mike will have it fixed before you know it. To put it simply, Mike works tirelessly on the efficiency and productivity of Accel operations for our clients.
Prior to his current role, Mike was Accel’s Manufacturing Manager with the primary focus on vacform development and production. He also served as the Head of Engineering at American Plastic Machinery, responsible for Top Level Machine Design as well as overseeing electrical and pneumatic design. Major achievements included updating of electrical control systems to allow for centralized control and recipe storage in touch screen operator interfaces.
Mike is an accomplished musician with diverse musical tastes and experiences. If you ever want to thank him for his work, he has a sweet tooth and loves cookies and chocolate!
